data gets deleted in stages, not all at once so it's feasible that they might have account numbers, but no records of the accounts.
They are not obliged to keep data forever, the FCA recoomend six years, bit it's as long as necessary.
You were also on a hiding to nothing because it was sold to you by an unregulated company 16 years prior to regulation.
Forget about it.
