i was a little dubious about using a company i'd not heard of after my RedSave trouble, but you guys seem to have got on alright with them, so i've placed an order for a friend and i's 50 Dvds and 50 CDs for £12.10 each.0

Are these discs any good? I've never tried Dysan dvds before, but had problems with other brands, so I'm wary of buying cheap dvds.0

This Dysan product seems very good, the best way to tell is to check the product's comments on the SVP website. I'm going to resist ordering though, normally when I try a new retailer I search the web and newsgroups for comments, this one lacks feedback.0

Unfortunately you cannot rely upon just the brand name of the disk as the same brand will use different dyes from time to time. It is the dye used that is the important factor in what makes a good/bad disk (as is actually stated on the Shopneo web site (move mouse over "?" next to ADVDInfo)).
Usually the cheap disks (often seen in Supermarkets etc) have poor dye and as such I avoid them like the plague (buying cheap disks is a false economy as some can actually lose data or indeed become totally useless over relatively short periods of time (ie 6 months) - see link at bottom).
However these Dysan disks look good (Prodisc - look it up on attached link).
I usually buy Datawrite Titanium DVD+Rs (also Prodisc) and have had very few problems (and I have used 100's).
The following link explains the dye issue and catagorises the dyes.

Hope that helps.0 -
