Barclaycard cheif executive

Options
Hi,

I am having dealings with these and getting no where fast. I want my account history including letters I have sent them but they wont send everything. I have asked in total 3 times for this info and have little bits send; 1) they sent statements, 2) they sent letter they have sent me and 3) they sent me letters I have sent them recently in relation to the ppi. I have asked for letters I have sent going back to aug 2005 when the account was opened.

I was thinking about sending a letter of complaint to their cheif executive. Is this a bit of a long shot as I just want to cause the dept a bit grief as to be honest their dealing of the ppi complaint has been shambolic!

Cheers
Martin

  • Have you tried a DSAR request to get the information?

    Have I not!

I tried in July 2010 and got the statements and paid the 10 quid fee. When they rejected the ppi I asked for it again and stressed the importance of everything - I did enclose a £10 fee again and im unsure if they cashed it not but they haven't sent the full information I acquire.

Cheers for getting back to me! :)
  • You said in earlier post that you had complained to the ombudsman, what was the result of this?

From your above post you have a) Got copies of your statements b) got copies of letters they have sent you c) got copies of letters you have sent them.

Can I ask what additional letters back to 2005 you say you have not yet received are you referring to a copy of your application form?

Well I have just passed this to the ombudsman and it hasnt reach the adjudicator stage as yet; I have received a letter advising that they are receiving over a 1,000 and that the matter may take up to a year to be sorted - fair enough I suppose due to the expected volume.

Well yeah application information for one. I sent them a letter january 2009 and I want to know if they received this - I heard nothing about this from them and wondered why this was. I am thinking that as I raised it before april 2011 then this would give me leverage. Asking for this information would back up that they received the letter so why didnt they act?

    Cheers

  • By law they have to supply what they have on file, not that im sticking up for them, they may not have received the letter, or they may have received the letter and lost if before they were able to action it and link it your account.

What was on the letter dated Jan 2009 and what relevance does raising it before April 2011 have, sorry if its something obvious?

There is letters that they have sent me in terms of copies which I have recently asked for that they only sent because it was a reply to a letter that I sent them - something they also haven't sent me. I am aware that they have to send what they have on file and that is why I am wondering if they are hiding anything. Their constant inability would give
me reason to think they are hiding something - like they say nothing in the application to suggest a misselling; why havent they sent it?

If they received a complaint on ppi prior to the 21st april then they would uphold all complaints - anything after and it would come under the extension allowed by the ombudsman.
  • To be honest you seem to have done all you can for the moment, if you want to send a letter to the CE then do it, however from experience he wont get to see it the post room/pa will just forward it to the complaints department. I personally think they did not get the letter or it was lost but I cant see why they would hide it, it would come out when the complaint it investigated by the FOS.

Did you not chase a response at all in the 2 years after you sent the letter?

I think you may just have to wait until the FOS gets back to you, however others may have a different opinion.

Well I had a complaint to them in august and they ignored it - I received rubbish service on the phone and received nothing on - a copy of this letter was sent with the dsar I received or at least partial dsar!

It is possible but I can word my argument that they are trying to hide something - looks good in writing. They probs would just send it to the post room but again it will get things moving.

I never thought to raise the issue in 2009 as I sort of forgot about it - but had the copy of the letter on my computer.
  • I think you secretly just like to write letters :-)

If they have not replied to your August complaint letter them write again if you wish and you can drop in your suspicions that they are hiding info from you. But your really only going over what you have complained about before and they may not reply purely on the basis that they have dealt with your complaint and given their final response. Good luck whatever you decide to do!
