good pub grub in london

taking the inlaws to see sound of music on tuesday night and would like to feed and water them before the show at the london palladium.they only like plain food and therefore some kind of pub grub would suffice.where would u suggest in and around the oxford circus area.advice would be much appreciated as i feel i always get ripped off when i venture down sarf.

    come on someone must know of a hidden gem of a pub that sells good food at reasonable prices in london theatreland. i wouldnt want maria drowned out by my rumbling tum!

    You won't find much pub grub in the evening - most of them are geared to the lunchtime office trade.
    If you go to the stage door of the Palladium - right next door to it is a very reasonable cafe-bar which does ordinairy food.
    You might also try this which is within walking distance.

    The reality is that you're dining in the West End of London where running costs such as rents and rates are among the most expensive in the country which is reflected in prices.
    However,you are likely to have more choice and variety than where you take your whippet for a night out 'oop north !

    Might be a bit late but ........'The Blue Posts' towards the bottom of Rupert Street opposite the Trocadero does great homemade pub food.
