Front brake juddering slightly.
Comments

it maybe a slightly warped brake disc. cost is dependant on car, and i'd wait until my friend came back next week.0

I had a fail for that.
It cost me £12 for a new set of pads, and it passed.0 -
have you noticed it when driving?
Could be any number of braking/suspension/wheel/tyre issues, but without more info it's impossible to tell.
Car make/model? Any symptoms you've noticed?0 -
Thanks.
It's an 07 shogun. Had a new set of tyres fitted last week. Forgot to mention it says (both) beforehand.
I've not noticed at all. I even just tried an emergency stop in an empty car park and can't feel any judder or anything unusual at all.0 -
If you can't tell through the steering wheel or the pedal, or with your ears whilst under braking, then it can't be that bad.
I don't know the specifics of Shoguns - but they're big heavy cars!
Brake judder is most often down to a bit of corrosion/pad material on the discs. A few good stops should clear this, if not it may need discs "skimming" or replacing. they normally replace them now as it's as cheap as skimming them.
It can, however, be down to worn or failing steering or suspension components. The MOT would have picked them up.
If you can't tell, I'd be tempted to run the car and keep an ear/feel out for any potential problems.0 -
If you can't feel the judder, not even through the pedal, how about taking it to another garage for an MOT, in case the first garage wanted to try to make a few quid off you?0
-
It has passed its MOT so wait for your mechanic mate to have a look. The bid 4x4s generally have suspensions like girders and the bushes/joints tend to be pretty obvious when they really are on their way out.0
