Neither of those links actually proves anything though? And even if thoses claims are true its only just for the last month though, which is obviously due to the new PS3. Go back over the last year then HD DVD is doing very nicely overall.

A lot of the surge in sales for blu ray is people testing there new PS3's capabilities. It wont last at that level for long.

And to say that thats a case for HD DVD failing is silly and sounds fanboyish tbh.

It may be for the last month but Blu Ray is overtaking, if HD was doing that well then Blu Ray wouldn be getting ahead, yes it's down to the PS3 most likey but the 360 had a huge head start with the HD DVD drive addon.
I'm no Sony fanboy, I do like my PSP though lol

I'd rather HD DVD wins cos Blu Ray sounds silly :rotfl:
  • I think in the end, the people who dont have the internet will win the battle for HD-DVD or BluRay.
Most people will go for what they know, and having the DVD in HD-DVD will be a huge factor against a new relatively unknown BluRay

That's one way of looking at it.

No it didnt, the HD DVD addon was only released in November and it was nearly impossible to actually get one as they were all sold out almost immediately. Its still quite scare now so it really hasn't had any head start at all.

You release the PS3 with blu ray and its obvious there will be a surge in blu ray titles, just like the sale of PS3 games will have overtaken the sale of 360 games in that month. That doesn't mean the PS3 has won and the XBox is dying does it? Give it a few months and watch the sales level out again. And as the 360 addon becomes available again it will see another rise in HD DVD sales.

Neither will win. Only the consumers will lose as they will need to buy both.
