Eon trying to cancel switch without permisson

I'd been with eon for a number of years (dual fuel) but after using an energy comparison website i switched to an alternative supplier. They were handling the switch and as expected I got a phonecall from an eon sales rep offering me an alternative plan if i decided to stay with them which i quite clearly and explicitly declined.
A few days later i received a letter from eon thanking me for switching to the alternative plan id clearly declined. I called up to obviously complain that i had declined the eon offer an yet had been switched to it regardless, they have initiated a complaint and told me they will get back to me in 2 weeks.
Is it worth complaining to an alternative independent body as these sort of tactics by eon are absolutely outrageous and must be illegal as they falsely switched me to an alternative plan even though id made it clear i no longer wished to stay with eon.

First of all its really a case for a sales complaint. I take it a few days later you got a letter from the other supplier that your current one had objected to you leaving?

Changing onto a different payment method, offer or tariff shouldnt effect you leaving unless it was like a contract.

If it is like a contract then yes, you will have to follow Eons complaint process to its completion until you get the resolution you are looking for, this may be just the chance to finally leave, or an apology, whatever you may be looking for.

However before you can really goto any 3rd partys to escalate your complaint you have to see Eons process through to completion. If they do not complete the complaint to your satisfaction and it goes to what i like to call it a stalemate or deadlook where you and the supplier are disagreeing and cannot see a resolution, then you may take it to partys like the ombudsman, as they will only handle cases where you have tried going down the complaint process.

My best advise would be to follow the complaint and see if they can transfer you to whoever you wish your supplier to be, if you have no luck with that then take your rights, get a copy of there complaint process they should be able to send it out on a leaflet or be on there website somewhere and take the matter further until they let you say bye bye

    Bye bye :) xxx

    Hi antoniomontana,

It sounds like when you called us back we have raised a complaint on your behalf regarding the call to keep your custom.

This means there should be one person dealing with this, if you contact us we should be able to see who is in charge of your complaint and what they are doing about it.

I know you said they will contact you again in 2 weeks, but did they say what they would be doing?

You will need to follow the E.ON complaints procedure before going to a third party.

If you need any more info from me, just ask.

    Helena :)
