Kwikfit Breakdown Cover

My daughter has had breakdown cover with Kwikfit for the last year. Fortunately she hasn't needed to use them so I can't comment on whether they are any good.
However, her renewal letter offers her another year for £85:eek: which doesn't seem like good value to me. The odd thing is that on their website their most expensive policy is less than £60.
Why would anyone renew?

You would be amazed how many people just accept whatever is on the renewal letter without shopping around first.
Have a read of the breakdown cover guide before deciding who to go with for another year.0 -
If she just wants roadside the back of the weekend newspapers show RAC selling at £39 and you get a £20 gift token too.
I got this a few months ago and in the post with the paperwork was a free 12 month home emergency protection cover, great service when my electrics all went out in my house and it didnt cost me a penny to have it fixed.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Kwikfit breakdown service, the thought of it makes my blood run cold.
I can imagine the scene now:
Driver: "My car won't start"
Kwikfit bloke: Opens bonnent looks inside "It's your HT leads and I think you'll need new pads and discs as well"
Driver: "What?"
Kwikfit bloke: "Oh yeah, I can see from here that they need to be done, ain't safe to drive like that"
Driver: "OK then, if you say so"
More seriously though, there's no point in stay with a breakdown cover provider as they never seem to give the best deals to existing customers and to be honest the service will be much of a muchness whoever you're with."One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. Everybody is in a hurry now and there is a 'the rules don't apply to me' sort of thing." - Bill Bryson0
