I have the user id and the activation code but how the heck do i actually activate it the site is doing my head in sending me round in circles.

IIRC, you need a user ID, a password and a PIN/Activation Code.

even better for me... I have user, pwd AND activation pin (received yesterday)... but can't activate it!!
No prob logging to the gateway website but once I go to the services page looking for their 'action' tab I get this:
