in Credit cards
I have a santander account which i use for the odd flutter. no money is ever paid in. only by me for a flutter. last year santander begged me to take a credit card (guaranteed i would get it) they gave me a £3000 limit.
as my account was only used for betting and no money ever goes into it.
would i have a case of irresponsible lending by santander for giving me the credit card, if i was to complain . the credit card is now maxed out.

Are you actually wanting to get out of paying them back the money you've lost on betting and arguing that they were irresponsible in giving you the card because you bank with them but don't have any money in the account?
Don't know how you would be able to argue that one, you agreed to the terms and conditions of the credit card and therefore must be prepared to pay them the money back. I have credit cards with Barclaycard and MBNA but don't have any other account with them, which will be the case for many.
I think though that online betting companies (and have never used one myself) are irresponsible in letting people pay for bets on their credit card, after all you can't pay for the National Lottery with a credit card, but that's a whole different argument.0 -
Yet another, ramping up the costs to others by running up large debts and looking for a get our of jail free card.... Sigh!If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0

Sounds to me more like a case of irresponsible spending not irresponsible lending.0 -

Yup agree troll wednesdayDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
