    Me too (but I voted anyway??? Was there a button for this age range, or am I being daft?)

    PS I haven't started a diary yet, but I will stop lurking at some point soon haha

    have voted 41-50 as a definite, but am hoping to get it done and dusted by 40. 42 is a conservative estimate.

    I'm 32, but accidentally voted for the 35-40 range :o.

    My reason for now deciding to become mortgage-free is that we have just had our second Son (4 months old) and we have a 3.5 year old Son and our family is complete. Also, DH is almost 38 years old and he would like the mortgage paid before he is 52.

    Our mortgage is due to end in 2026 which at that point DS1 will be 18 years old and DS2 will be 15 years old. So, if our children are in a position to go to University, then I would ideally like to have paid the mortgage off at least 4 years before DS1 turns 18 so that we can save more money towards University costs to help them out etc.

    I think that it's not clear what question is being asked.

    I *think* that the poll is when did you decide to become a Mortgage Free Wannabee?

    As opposed to what age would you like to be mortgage free at?

    I'm 28 ish now and would love to do it by the time I'm early 40's.

    Mortgage-free Glee!

    We were 23 when we decided to pay off the mortgage as soon as possible. We were 26 by the time we found MSE and realised that we could go at it a whole lot harder. We were 29 when we paid the thing off and now, at 30, we're off to get another mortgage!

    Cheers,

    Billy

  • I can't vote :( AM in the 31-35 bracket. Had my lightbulb moment very early on, but didn't fully embrace it for several years, although I was saving up to overpay... We've really gone to town on our mortgage in the past 3 years mind you;
