For the last few weeks I have been wanting to buy some shares in Cineworld but they are constantly rising (5p today)
Why would they be bucking the market in this way just lately. No dividend due shortly

didnt they have some quite good results recently.
another defensive worth checking out is greggs the bakers0 -
Share price has gone up since 17th Nov, might be to do with the appointment of Philip Bowcock as its new Chief Financial Officer (although he did come from Luminar which went into administration where he was a Finance Director from 2010, maybe too short a time to implement any major changes).
Broker consensus is a 'Buy' with a price range from 234p to 260p, good yield around the 6% mark.Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -
thanks - yes, results and also a few weeks ago recommended as a 'safe dividend' in IC
But not new news and it is just the last few days its been rising as everything else drops so has shot' my wait till the market drops and then buy strategy to bits' regarding this share!0 -
I've been a holder of this for sometime. It's a nice 'safe' one which pays a good divi. The good thing about Cinema's is that they've been proved to be fairly recession proof.0
