Baked Bean diet?

Has anyone tried the baked bean diet?

It is something I'm interested in; however don't want to only eat baked beans I want to eat them with something equally healthy but was wondering if they really do help you lose weight?

you will be raising the roof in your house....:rotfl:

how about things liked poached eggs with it, beans are very good for you and great source of fibre, if you ate them along with something healthy the weight should come off easily.

I've never heard of the baked bean diet. I wouldn't have thought it would be a practical, long term diet as you'd be producing an awful lot of gas!

Sorry to be boring, but I think a healthy, balanced diet with some exercise would be more effective and you can keep your friends too!

    I love poached eggs.

Might try it for a week or 2 to see how I get on.

Well said, Dave. I've lost almost two stone from eating less, and because I eat less, I am tending to chose healthier foods to get the maximum benefit.

It's not rocket science, but you need to have the willpower. That's the hard bit.
  • There's an awful lot of sugar in most baked beans. Assuming you - and anyone else in the vicinity - can stomach a baked bean diet, if you had 3 tins a day you'd be having about 200% of your sugar rda. Fine for most, but not if trying to lose weight.

Simple way to lose weight - eat less, move more. Doesn't fail.

    Myths of healthy heating...
I'd try a diet of baked beans and 'healthy' breakfast cereals...... large amounts of sugar in both yet people think they can help lose weight.
    Odd.

I can't eat many beans they give me severe tummy pains..

Never heard of this type of diet before, I personally even if my tummy could take them, would not attempt it!

Its one of those diets thats choose your favourite food and just eat that, it would work with most foods, my friend did it with chocolate years and years ago and it worked, it doesn't take into account healthy eating or long term effects, its about as much weight loss in as quick a time as possible.
Thank you for this site Martin

  • I can't imagine for a minute it would be sustainable...
