Large Bill from E.ON? What can I do?

I took over the account when i moved in to my new rented house. As i wanted to change I was told it would take 6 weeks, and i'd have to continue using E.ON til the switch happened. My change over happens on 1st Dec. I'm aware that i'm paying a higher rate per Kw as i'm not in a contract, but I've just got a bill through today for £111. Now, the CH hasn't been on much, maybe 2-3 hours a day, and we don't use a tumble dryer etc. The landlady gave me loads of info regarding what the bills were last year, and in the dead of winter she was only paying £90 a month, based on the heating being on for about 5-7 hours a day, and the washer and dryer being used near daily. I'm sure this bill is too high. What can i do to challenge it? I don't want to be in credit etc as i change in a week.I can afford to pay if necessary, but I really don't think it's correct!!

Hi Minnie
First thing to do here is check all the meter readings, are any of them estimated?
Did you give us meter readings when you moved in? If so, are they the ones on the bill we’ve sent?
Are the latest meter readings accurate and in line with what your meters are currently showing?
If all of the above are correct then your bill is likely to be too, as it’s based on use recorded by the meters. If not, then we need to get some accurate readings from you.
When did you move in? I’m guessing mid-October if you approached a new supplier straight away so about 5 weeks?
Your bill at the property is likely to be higher than this time last year because of a couple of price increases. If you’re worried, give us a call and we’ll check that it’s correct.
Double check your bill and if you need any more help just let me know
