hi - we understand that package holidays with thomas cook are ATOL protected but can I ask what about flights only - booked with thomas cook - are they also protected please.

hi - it was paid for by a visa debit card and over £400.

It appears that flights booked in a TC shop may be covered by ATOL, but not those booked online.

As they have not actually gone into administration yet, I would get travel insurance ASAP which includes Supplier Failure insurance.

Hi I am also in the same situation with flights booked with TC. Flights are not covered by ATOL but as we have paid by credit card over £100, we are covered by our credit card (ie. visa, MasterCard etc) under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. So, should the unfortunate happen, we will get our money back ..... Eventually, but you cannot start proceedings until TC go into administration. Hope this come as some assurance as it did to me.

Any flights booked through thomas cook or flexible trips are protected, if you booked with BA etc or a low cost carrier they are not atol protected, if you look at your invoice, in the costing i think you will have £2.50 per person listed for atol protection so no worries.
