I got sent a link by the OH to a cheap fridge, but the site looks well dodgy to me. No address, no phone number and it looks cheap, with high value products.
I couldn't find anything else about it.

So just on the off chance I am missing out on a genuine bargain, I thought I'd ask if anyone knows anything about frold.com, or can find out about it?

Hope this is in the right place.

edit, nothing on companies house about them.

  • If you look up the address given in their website it does not in fact exist. There is no such postcode or road name in the town of Pencader.

It seems that they only accept bank transfers too if you go through the checkout process.

Does anybody ever fall for this sort of thing?
I guess the existence of the site answers that one....

The address seems to have been added since I posted yesterday.

At least this thread comes up 2nd place to the main site on a google search now, so hopefully may stop anyone falling for it.

Is there anyone to report this sort of thing to?

  • Thank you guys for the heads up warning. You really saved me from a big con.

Yes, There's not much info warning others about these frauds (frold.com). I had to struggle searching on Google to find this bit of info. Only in the last moment before purchasing I got lucky and arrived at your forum where I got this wonderful tip.

Please please could everyone and myself included go and spread this info about Frold.com so that it would much easier for google to pick up.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
  • I also got suspicious when their conditions said credit card payment OK then they wanted me to transfer money to some random barclays acccount... I will email barclays..... I even bothered to register.... oh well I expect I will get 6 months of junk mail....
  • Thanks for looking into this , their prices were just too good to be true !
    AVOID !!!!
  • Thanks Guys for the thread - it saved me too though I was suspicious.

I do not know whether they really are hosted by Magento or whether that is a scam too but I have emailed the alleged host to let them know what is going on. Hopefully they are hosted there and will be taken down.
