Some more RO price cuts have gone live today. Mostly on TV's, MP3 players, cameras, camcorders & Sat Nav's.

lol this thread makes me laugh. True RO is 'Running Out' (when supply of stock is stopped), RI is Re-Introduced or Re-Integrated (when stock is moved from old to new catalogue). New items are delt with instore during the reorganising of the stock rooms, and only come available when the new catalogue is launched. Staff hardly buy from RO lists unless they want a present for someone for cheap. RO items are not worth getting all the time, they are RO for a reason (rubbish sales, bankrupt manufacturer, no more supplies of the item from manufacturer as new models come out). True you should keep the old catalogue for a year as RO items are available till they Run Out, so something might not get sold because you move over to the new catalogue. Everyone gets a free list of items that are RO lol, they just call it 'CLEARENCE', you can't miss it, it's all black & yellow. Mainly as a book or broadsheet flyer, introduced as the public listings, private listings are no longer used unless we want to find something to put out onto the Clearence Wall. Hope this helps, to conclude, if you want a bargin then get the 'CLEARENCE' list (some stores have a specific catalogue made to display these items) as everything in it is no longer in the new catalogue. ('-')

When "this thread" was started, however, this wasn't the case - a lot of the RO items were not added to the clearance lists and were only every found on the "private listings" - in fact if I remember correctly there was even a newspaper article about it at the time.

And why wouldn't people want to buy something cheap? There were some great bargains to be had on those RO lists - I myself saved a fortune not just on "cheap gifts" but on essentials (or what I consider essentials!) - for example a Dyson to replace my (then) recently broken down one that cost a quarter the price of the same item anywhere else.

Personally, I am not one of these people who need the latest model - if the previous model does the job just as well, why not allow us to buy them at a big discount? There were several items that I bought, that I would never have been able to afford if the only option were "the latest model".
