Barclaycard PPI knock back

I wrote to Barclaycard regarding the misselling of PPI in June and completed the 8-page form. I had several letters apologising for the delay etc. I have just received the response declining the repayment. I was self-employed at the time that it was taken out and had another policy with Canada Life covering me for loss of income.

I have had two succesful payouts from Santander and MBNA for the same circumstances, both times NOT using the MoneySavingExpert form. What is the way forward for me now? I'd appreciate any assistance with this.

What was the reason for rejection?

Self employment in itself is not good enough if the PPI covers self employed and the terms are not too restrictive.
Was the Canada Life plan a full permanent health insurance or payment protection plan or one of their cut down plans?
Did the Canada Life plan cover you to the maximum?

So basically, they are rejecting your complaint because they do cover self employed and your complaint said they didnt. In that respect they are correct to reject your complaint.

Duns is correct, but they haven't addressed your second issued regarding the fact you had coverage elsewhere. If they have stated this is there final response bang it all off to the fos and let them take a look-have a read on here and other forums to see if there are any other reasons you may have been miss sold as well.
Obviously the fact you were SE was covered (very unusual for PPI) won't fly, but look at how the policy was sold any advice given (or lack of any advice), plus your issue with having cover elsewhere.

BTW the form is from the FOS and is standard not produced by this or any other forum-you can even download it from most banks websites as well.

A Canada Life policy is likely to have been a permanent health insurance policy which may duplicate loss of income for health reasons but probably not simply lack of work.
