What are customer rights under warranty?

Basically had a HP laptop fail and want to return it under warranty. It is still in date.

HP want me to go through all the troubleshooting chat with their tech guys and i don't want to . I just want it fixed/replaced.

Am i within my rights to insist they skip this ?

Any ideas?

unfortunately, one usually has to through the charade of : try this... now this ... then this. HP usually do equip with a brand new machine if there is indeed a defect ime .

How much is it in date. under sale of goods, if within first 6 month's, will be down to them to prove it is faulty, after 6 month's it is down to you. But some companies will not go that route. But if dealing with the manufactures themeselves they do tend do that though.

So yes, will have to go through all the hoops and whistles if you want it done.

1st Question is what is wrong with it, If it is software it's a bit more of a grey area.

their business contract is even more generous: they shipped out a brand new switch on two occasions when both died; ditto a business desktop pc.

After 6 months but less than 12.
They are sending me the bits to fix it. Which i prefer as it should be quicker :-D
