Emailing Many People!

Hi, i got a bit of a problem, i want to start a a newsletter for my customers there only a small number!

I want to send them all the same newsletter to all of them at once, but is there a way to do with without using the bbc and cc, because i dont want them to see each others email addresses?

Thanks,

If you don't want to use bcc or cc then you'd have to set up a system to email them individually.
Can I ask what's wrong with bcc?

Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.
  • The BCC function stands for "Blind Carbon Copy" which basically means everybody gets the same email, but no one can see anyone else who is on the email distribution list - this should cover what you want to do?

As long as your list is spam free - I would use somebody like http://mailchimp.com/ . Free for up to 2000 subscribers (12000 emails a month).

It means you not having to use your own ISP (many do not allow mailing lists on their servers).

Also sending out email using BCC is a just one potential sign of spammer. Your email could end up straight in the junk mail folder - not ideal.

    Well.......I never knew that !!

  • Depending on how many you are going to send at once......you own ISP may put limits on it. I think mine has a policy of one bulk email (within limits obviously!) and then there must be a certain time gap before you can do another: otherwise it blocks them Never investigated exact times or number of recipients permitted.

You speak of "your customers" - so you must be on a business package so maybe things might be different when compared to personal/residential broadband accounts.

The only problem with bcc is that some mail hosts think that it is spam.

You can use Word to do a mail merge?

You don't say which ISP? But if BT, they used to have a limit of 100 addressees per email-not sure if this is still the case. If so, and your mailing list is longer than 100, just split it into 2 groups, A-L, M-Z, etc.
