Gillette Mach3 Turbo razor blades.

I have used Mach 3 blades for many years since they were first introduced. Originally I found each blade was lasting for up tp 6 weeks before change necessary merely due to not shaving close enough. Note this is long after the rubbing strip colour has changed from blue to white.
Now I am finding that the rubbing strip colour is partially gone after using just ONCE! And the blade needs changing within a week to ten days.
Is this just Gillette reducing quality as a new product is about to be launched? Or are there counterfeit blades around - I do sometimes buy from markets?
Anyone else any similar experiences?

Razor blades are a bit of a rip off like inkjet printer cartridges. It would not surprise me if counterfeiters were jumping in to further exploit the consumer and original manufacturer to boot.

Its funny you say this,on tuesday my other half was moaning about these blades not lasting as long as they used to (all purchashed at tescos).
Anyway in my usual complaining way I have fished his old pack of four out of the bin and sent a letter of complaint to gillette.
Will update you when I have had a reply.0 -

to revive old razor blades.
Rub them back and forth inside a drinking glass0 -
@Cathy
The blades in question have guides at the side which prevent the blades from contacting a rigid surface longer than the blades lenght.
Of topic ,your picture is bugging me as it is taking an age to load each time. I'll look at my webcache but in my ignorance, it might non cachable or too high a resolution somewhere in the chain of things.
I only have dialup so total bytes to download are a minior gripe on this excellent site that is the stronger for your perceptive contributions.

@Trafalgar
Your flag is instant.
I guess Cathy selected 'Warts and all' plus 'Desperate Dan feature eliminator' in some menu. Even Danny's Einstein mug loads a few seconds faster. I suspect the picture has to come from a slow third party site.
