need to receive a fax from abroad

then need to send a reply

is there any service which allows this but doesn't have a fixed subscription charge? i.e. pay as you go type

have looked on google and some of the sites have very little information - would like some recommendations especially if you have used the service yourself

For sending yes - but if receiveing sensitive information i.e. banking you'd have to be there at the exact time it was sent to to the shop which might not be possible

I use a service called Faxtastic, but since I use a London number without restrictions I pay a subscription fee. Their free number works, but you won't be able to receive from abroad or companies which blacklist 08** numbers,

For a one off, eFax have a 30 day trial. I am not sure of it's limitations during the trial period but may be worth having a look. As with any free trial, if you don't want to keep using the service, just remember that if you do sign up, remember to cancel it before the trial ends.

PamFax reckons it works worldwide and doesn't charge to receive.

I remember when PC's came with a built in modem , and everyone had a phone line. Mind you some mobiles have built in fax
