Wireless for iPad/iPhones - Wired for PC?

Options
Hi chums,

As the title suggests, is it possible to have a wireless router for our iPads and iPhones to use around the house. But to use a wired/ethernet connection for my pc/laptop? (from the same router).

Or would you need two routers?

Ta for any help.

You just need the one router. A wireless router usually has at least 4 ports on the back for you to plug your pc into.

I have the wireless set up for phones and tablets and wired for my PC, TV, Bluray and Xbox.

Im having a problem with my Apple products. I have a basic sky router, i have cctv wired thats it, everything else ; PC, PS3, Laptop, iPad and 2 iPhones are wireless.
The router is downstairs in the hall way so would be a problem to have the other stuff wired. The problem im having is the iPad and phones are constantly going off line when we go upstairs.
I was told to get a new router a G not N ?? Im clueless about these things can any one offer any info.

    Many Thanks

there is zero reason not to get an N router as they have G in as well ensuring backwards compatibility, plus the iPad has N so you will get (potentially) faster speeds with an N router

I don't know much about ADSL routers but something like this should be ok.

but I can't guarantee you will still get a connection upstairs that depends on so many factors, thickness and type of walls, is it only the phones and ipad that looses connection and not a laptop? mobile devices have less powerful wireless chips than a proper computer, if that is the case then perhaps the best option is to move the router to a better position where you can get a signal.
