Fault H F is Flame detection error

Remove flame detection electrode terminal from PCB

Is there continuity between the two terminal pins?

    NO - Replace PCB

YES - Replace flame detection electrode

Sounds like a job for a suitably qualified engineer.

HF is the same as LF but the boiler thinks it is more serious, so needs the power off to reset rather than pressing the reset button.

Could be any number of things on this boiler, most commonly the condensate trap blocked or the ignition electrodes warped too far apart and as the post above.
  • I have tried resetting using the reset button but this does not do anything...i have insurance through domgen...should this be covered by them..?...a subcontractor called 'chadford ltd' is coming out to look at it tomorrow..what are the chances of it being up and running tomorrow??

Thanks to youu all for your help!

is the fan running then stopping,
if so its dirty, remove sensing rubber tubes,
and blast fan tube conections with pressurised air,
    that you clean cameras with,:j

dirty fans are a common fault,

This boiler doesn't have fan sensing tubes:eek:
  • Thanks gasforyou for your knowledge..just to let you know an engineer from chadford ltd came round today and ordered a few parts:flame detection electrode, ingnition electrode and maybe a pcb...he did check the condensate trap etc but this was pretty clean..!he came on time and said he would be in again on monday to fit the parts..hilst resetting the boiler, whereas before it was showing HF,it showed LF.i thought i would be without hot water for the weekend but by chance/luck,when the boiler was switched on/off from mains,it started working so hopefully it stays like that until monday..

Just for info, the guarantee is through domgen who have been pretty easy o deal with since my boiler broke down!!
