I had my hair cut for the first time today at The Blowdry Bar ( Ballyhackamore branch)
Cut and blowdry ,or finish as they call it, £15! I could have had it cut , coloured and finished for £20.and will the next time.
The cut is good, the wait was only 10 mins and I am very pleased with the result.
The only blip is that the guy cut his finger and had to go off to get a plaster!
I like the idea of just going when i fancy it, no appointment, like a mans barbers and at that price I may go more often.
I was paying £35 for my stylist and once paid £50 for the head honcho!
No more!;)

BlowDry Bar on Ormeau Rd is OK'ish.
I had my hair done there about 7 times.
Hair Colouring brilliant but haircut quality has seriously gone downhill.
I think u get what u pay for!!!!!:(0 -
Yes you def get what you pay for, some very good hairstylists suffering because of these New Cheap salons, I've known of some people who have had to go to a proper hairdressers to sort a "Bargain Hairstyle" out so really cost them more money! Be Careful!0

I think it's a great idea, just go when you feel like it, I am sick of paying £80 upwards for a cut and colour. I Usually try to get groupon Deals now !0

Cheers for that!
I had a "hairmare" last night. Dreamt it was all chopped off and terrible looking! You have made me feel anxious that it does not look as good as I felt it was!
Still, even if its not the worlds greatest haircut, an expensive one is not going to look 5 or even 10 times better .Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
I have used Blowdry bar in castle Street and Ormeau .
I found you usually have to wait longer in Ormeau .
A few branches open on a Sunday ,Ormeau opens on a Sunday but not Castle Street .
About time hairdressers opened on a Sunday ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
I have been using the Ormeau Road one since I was at uni and keep going back. Always get a great colour and cut and for £25 for highlights and a cut you can't go wrong. So many of my friends and family now go there as well0

think the idea of a blowdry bar is great but any salon doing cut, colour and blowdry for £20 is either using the nastiest colour product on your hair - or else they are gonna go bust really quickly. A tube of professional colour is £8-12 depending on the brand - plus the activator as well - I can't fathom how any professional salon could do a colour that cheaply - unless they are paying their staff pittance and or the staff haven't gone through proper training and aren't qualified - which means they wouldn't be covered by insurance. Scary scary stuff.
If really want a wee bargain and live it lux - Paul Staffords do an express blowdry for £10! Award winning salon - highly trained staff and really nice tea - can't beat that with a big stick. Paul Meekins on the Castlereagh Road also do really brilliant offers too - make-up, blow-dry and manicure for less than £30 amazing!0 -
I used to go to ormeau road blow dry bar but the waiting time is unbelievable. I have sat for 2 hours on numerous occasions. Don't think I would bother again.0

Got my hair dyed yesterday at the Ballyhackmore salon and it was done terribly and they tried to tell me it was done right then after arguing they offer to correct it the next day but then we called in the next day saying we didn't have time to wait in the queue they said we weren't entitled to the correction if we waited more than 24 hours. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.0
