Student finance

I am in the second year of my teaching degree. Applied for finance last year and received the loan, maintenance grant, parents learning allowance and adults dependants grant. This was all done without any problems. Applied again in May for this year and received a letter informing me of what i was entitled to. Two weeks before i am due to start student finance send me another award letter wiping over £4000 of my finance package!:eek::eek:.
When I rang them they told me that i had to send evidence in again such as rent statements/ council tax/ p60 etc. This was all duly sent via recorded delivery. After waiting a few weeks I called them again and was told that although they had received my evidence (recorded delivery!) they had since lost it :mad: and to ring back in two weeks.
Over the last few weeks I must have called twenty times and have been told everything from "We've lost it", "We haven't lost it after all, its with another department", I've now put it on a special list and it will be dealt with within a week" "Phone back in a week/two weeks/ten days" AAARRRGGHH!!!
Over two months later I am still in the same position. Yesterdays phone resulted in the SF person apparently putting my application on a "special list" to be sorted within 7 days as its been so long. I've just lost all faith in them. I feel like I'm running round in circles and just constantly being told to phone back and then when I do, nothings changed. So where do i go from here. I'd be grateful for any advice.
