Argos on Ebay - AVOID!

Ordered a camera from them, 2 weeks earlier in the hopes it would be delivered for a present today. Oh how wrong I was!!! Yodel (idiots) are unable to deliver a parcel on a certain date, as I work shifts and am unable to take delivery on some days due to work. Attempted 4 times to arrange a time when I would be home, and was told that they could not do it, even with a whole weeks notice. Staff don't want to know, I was offered a refund after opening a dispute, and now have to run round like a headless chicken to purchase a replacement whilst still out of pocket.

Just avoid them like the plague, if I would have known their delivery service was Yodel, I would have not bothered.

Given the unneccessary and insulting post you've just made on another Argos thread:

Nothing wrong with Argos as other said you problem is with Yodel for non delivery. as Yodel (dhl) have many depots across the country if they could not deliver to you, could you not have called you local depot and said that you would call their to collect on your day off. they do allow this.

i have done this several times if i was not going to be in on the day they were due to deliver, just called the depot the day before and told them i would call and collect as i would be in the area of the depot and their would be no one in to take delivery.

So you brought something via mail order, are hardly ever in, and it's Argos's fault it's not been delivered?

  • option 1 - arrange to collect from Yodel depot.
option 2 - arrange to have Yodel deliver to you at work / a neighbour
option 3 - complain about Argos because they sent it via courier who have other parcels to deliver and won't give in to your demands.

It would have stated in the listing that it was a courier. If your unable to work with couriers only buy from sellers who use Royal Mail.

Nothing wrong with Argos on Ebay. Prices good, service even better.

Agree Yodel are a pain - but then so are people who use mail order - and then moan that they are never in and its all Argos's fault :p

On the contrary I can't recommend them highly enough, managed to get a keyboard for half the normal price from there, arrived in only 2 days, a better model than the one advertised and is still selling for the full price in the catalogue.

Don't have any option but avoid them as they will not deliver to my postcode but will deliver to a postcode that is serviced from the depot in my town  Argos will deliver to me at normal rate using the same courier
