We brought 2 cooked chickens from asda on Sunday which should have been on offer at 2 for £5. When we got home we realised the offer hadn't kicked in. My OH took the receipt in today and was given a full refund.
I know that Asda used to refund the difference and give a £2 gift card.
Is this a new policy to keep up with tesco or did we just get lucky. Anyone else had any experience of this lately.

You were lucky! I got overcharged on some flavoured water on Saturday and just got the difference back. I asked about the £2 gift card and was told their policy had changed.0

I was over charged a total of 90p on two diffrent frozen items in one shopping visit afew weeks ago. When I pointed it out to the checkout supervisor they just credited me the diffrence, when I pointed out there were probably loads of other miss-prices in the store she responded sarcastically "yes, loads I expect" !!!!0

I was over charged for some Pringles about a fortnight ago, 2 for £1.50 (I was charged £1.38 each), complained and was refunded £1.38 (so one free)
Really not sure that Asda staff have a universal policy at the minute, I think different staff maybe doing different things0 -

I was overcharged last week - went to customer services and got the difference refunded & (grudglingly, after I mentioned it) a £2 gift card.
Minus an apology.0 -
Found their policy taken from their website: http://www.asda.co.uk/corp/customer_service/FAQs.htm#option4
scroll to bottom of screen and here it is:
What happens if I am overcharged?
If you have been overcharged in any of our stores we will gladly refund the difference (if you have been overcharged) and give you a £2 Gift card voucher for each product you have been mischarged for.
well may have to print this off as bought 4 items all overcharged and only got 1 £2 voucher.
May look for overcharges under £1, buy a load and make a small amount of moneyTB0 -

Yea the policy was updated in Oct/Nov last year and the official policy is.... You will get a £2 giftcard per 'line' that you have been overcharged. CSD are SUPPOSED to give everyone a giftcard but this doesnt happen. this is just CSD being lazy, i know, i've done it myself! although i have a different outlook now!"The journey of 1000 miles commenced with a single step"0

I was overcharged on 2 different items yesterday, got the difference refunded - only 46p - but when I asked about the gift voucher the girl didn't have a clue what I was talking about so I showed her a copy of their terms and conditions which I had printed off their website and keep safely tucked in my handbag and was eventually given a giftcard for £4!0
