No i don't 'need' Sky+If you already know about using a video sender, then why are you asking for other options seeing as you are blowing all other ideas out of the water.
There haven't been any ideas to blow out of the water, I started off by saying I wanted to avoid re-routing the cables. All the information is there if you read itToxteth_OGrady wrote: »
As i already mentioned. Senders will send the video but they're expensive; ie £200 - £300 and they don't offer the full solution.
If the Sky box plugs in at the cable entry point (under the window) and I connect a wireless HDMI sender, I can send the video which is fine.. BUT as I want to connect an AV receiver for surround sound i'll either need to run an optical cable around the room or have the AV receiver with the Sky box and then run a speaker cable to the TV or I'll have the main sound coming from the wrong place.
Which is part of the dilema. Yep, I can send the HDMI signal across the room but as Sky only broadcast stereo and not 5.1 through HDMI http://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-HD-Picture-Sound/Sky-HD-5-1-via-HDMI/td-p/2181, I'd end up spending £200 and still end up with trunking to the TV.
It looks like I'm going to have to do what I said I didn't want to do and route the cabling through trunking.0 -

scheming_gypsey - it's not possible. What happens in those cables between your dish and your Sky box is not just a 'signal'. It's a) digital and b) (mostly) encrypted. The sky box (with card in) decrypts the signal. It also powers the LNB along this cable and has to actively tune on it. This is the reason you can't have several signals off 1 satellite cable like you can with aerials, and also why there's no such product for what you're looking for.
Check the input 1 and 2 signal strength/quality on your sky box. Any joins, or lengthening of the cable will weaken this signal. Consider leaving the sky box where it is, and plugging it into a video sender, or consider moving the box, and the cables, possibly re-routing, to keep the cables to the dish as short as possible.0 -
Cheers Almillar, that's what i discovered yesterday after some hunting around. I can send it once it hits the box (HDMI sender) but not before it hits the box which leaves me with the optical cable problem..
I've had the TV in a few different locations in the longe before, and even where i want to put it now, and the signal has been fine. I'm just going to have to trunk it round the room, although I might spend a few quid and get the wood effect trunking so it looks better against the floorboards.0 -
yes you have blown all and any suggestion put to you out of the water, you may have said you did not want to go the cable route, but as you can clearly see, it is the only option, which is why no one posted much about sender's.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

No, go back and read again. I was asking if there was an alternative solution than re-routing the cables.0

In the first post under The technical stuff: you saidSky box will connect via HDMI to either the TV directly or an AV receiver.604!0 -
Your alternatives are going to be expensive.
The simplest option is to have the electronics where they are, use a video sender to get the image to the TV and buy micro or flat speaker cable to get to the sound to its location. You dont say what your current flooring is but certainly with carpet I've just lifted the edge and put flat speaker cable under it and for laminate then pushed it into the expansion gap under the skirting. The pain will be if you have an all in one remote that you're electronics arent together.
You could replace your speakers with active speakers or invest in a second amp and then use an audio sender attached to the preouts of your AVR but if you were concerned with the cost of the video sender thats a non-starter0 -
