Help reading SuperDeal meter
Options
Hi there
I am trying to send in a reading for the meter in my flat. I am on SuperDeal from Southern Electric, and therefore have to give 3 different readings. I've followed the instructions I've been able to find, but am not entirely sure which numbers I should give. I've cycled through all the digital screens, and the readings are as follows:
AR1 022952
AR1 023731
BR3 022952
R01 023731
R02 004757
ELA 028488
ELB 022952
I can see that some of the numbers are the same, but I have NO clue which is which!
I suspect that the lowest number is the stored units or night units, but I don't want to submit a wrong reading.
Can anyone on this strange tariff help?

i would say that r01 is your day r02 is your night and br3 is your stored heat. the way i remember superdeal is that your night tends to be the lowest as unlike eco7 you only have your dom appliances running off it and it no longer affects your storage heaters or immersion tank.0

Thank you
The front says Two Element Radio Telemeter, Solid State Digital, Type 5226C-A0 -
Two element meters record domestic and heating consumption at the same time, never seen a radio telemeter set up as you have, but normaly Rate 'A' covers domestic (sockets, lights etc) and Rate 'B' covers heating.
Looking at the reads you posted it looks like:
R01 - Domestic day rate
R02 - Domestic low rate
B03 - Heating rate (will be at low rate)
ELA - Total Domestic consumtion (R01+R02)
ELB - Total Heating consumption (same as B03 as all heating will be on the cheap rate)
So, the 3 reads you need to give are (probably) R01/R02/B03.....that said it's probably best to talk to someone at Southern to confirm this.0 -
That's brilliant, thank you. I have finally received a reply from Southern and you are right.
Quite frustrating that I can't do anything to compare/switch the tariff (private rent and no-one seems to compare this tariff), but am doing all I can to make myself as energy efficient as possible and want to monitor my usage myself.
Thanks for all the replies0
