in Credit cards
Hope the title makes sense but I have got a few thousand US dollars in my pocession. I bought them a few years ago where I got 2 dollars to 1 pound.
I have booked a trip to Orlando next year and now that I have the dollars I want to use them to pay for disney & other attractions tickets. I always thought that I would just use them when I got to Orlando and pay for the tickets at the gate BUT I have discovered that you pay more that way and need to book them online in advance. So does anyone know if there is a way I can load my dollars onto a prepaid card and use them cos if I use my own credit card then it will just get converted back to sterling.

I cannot help you re the credit card, but can offer some advice re Orlando(returned from there 3 weeks ago)
you can only buy a minimum of a 5 day disney pass online in the UK,if you dont want it entirely to be a park holiday, you can purchase passes for 2-3 days at he gate.
A 2 day Disney pass for magic Kingdom and Epcot is $200
Some good deals to be had online if you want longer passes!
Hope this helps.0 -
I would look into a travelex prepaid card in $. You can certainly load those cards with cash in places like thomas cook and co-op travel etc, so would imagine you can load dollars on to a dollar card. I don't know how much they will charge for the load.
Worth looking into anyway.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Surely if you've got $1000, and you convert it to £, you'll have £650.
Then, you buy your $1000 holiday on a UK credit card, and you owe £650?
(Well, almost, giving for possible exchange rate loading)0 -
Use the travelmoneymax.com tool on this site to find the best place to cash in the dollars. Then just pay the money into your bank account.
Not worth the hassle any other way.
Get a credit card with a 0% commission charge such as the Halifax Clarity and you won't lose out.0
