good evening all, I know that it’s been around a long time ,but my wife is very worried  me i'm bothered by there anticts but they have tried a more cunning approach ,by phoning me on my mobile then putting the phone down ,which I called them back asking who it was , to the reply is your wife there? and used her name ,I asked why and what was is it about ,thinking it was one of those callers for insurance, no he replied its a serious matter !!!! I replied its my phone, and how did you get my number? from our clients he replied, i was very annoyed saying I will answer what you need to know, we need to speak to your wife under the consumer act, I gave the phone to my wife who answered with name address then passed the phone to me, then Mr. nice guy became Mr. nasty with threats of more money added to the bill followed by solicitors bills and ccj's
the question being !!!! because i phoned them does it make it worse for us

(all because she was shopping at dumhelm mill

  • Try the parking forum as well.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

    MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. It's not a new tactic for a debt collector to phone as well as write letters. Your wife should say - if they call again - that 'the debt is denied'.

See this thread about a Dunelm fake ticket which was 'cancelled' when the lady complained:

    http://forum.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=3251430

Why not try complaining BIG TIME at the Dunelm Mill branch, armed with your threatogram letters received. Complain at a busy time at the CS desk about the mail/telephone harassment. Make it clear you are not daft enough to actually pay a fake PCN like this (even if the store staff think it's a real fine, it is NOT). BUT tell them they have lost your custom unless they sort this out now as it's getting beyond a joke.

Maybe take some receipts if you have any to show you do shop there, even if you cannot find the receipt from the day in question. And make it clear you are not going to 'appeal' to the scam parking firm as it's well known that the whole thing is a con. Complain about them allowing their customers to be harassed like this.

Stay assertive and calm, and VERY clear about what this is and your shock at Dunelm allowing this protection racket against their paying customers.

...or just carry on ignoring the letters and deny the debt if they phone again.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What exactly do they mean by the consumer act???

Don't worry just idle threats. When they call again just say we shall see you in.courts. shall we make a date now:)
