Heating Not Coming On?

We had a Valiant eco tech combi boiler installed in Sep 09 but we now can't get the heating to come on. We're still getting hot water and very rarely the radiators will heat up. We have a digital thermostat to turn the heating on, we've changed the batteries etc but aren't sure what else to do. The little flame symbol (showing that the heating is on) is showing but when we up the heating temperature it doesn't make any noise.
Can anyone suggest what it might be?
If you need any more info then just let me know!
Thanks

Most likely reason is that your radiator system has lost its pressure.
Have a look at the boiler. Somewhere, easily visible, there should be a pressure guage, like a speedometer dial on a car. The scale-range will be from 0 to about 4. The pressure should be between 1 and 2. If it's well below 1 then this will be your problem. Pressure leaks away gradually over the months and a "top-up" is regularly needed on most systems.
There will be a valve on the cold water inlet pipe as it comes into the boiler that you can open to feed more water into the system and so increase the pressure.
Feed water in, slowly, until the pressure is just under 2.
Other people may follow on with more precise instructions for your particular boiler, the above is a general description.
I have a friend who is a domestic boiler engineer and he reckons this simple problem is the cause of many of his emergency calls and a major source of income to him.0 -

The pressure bar is towards the top (not quite in the red danger bit - but definitely not what I'd call low!). Are there any other suggestions?
Thanks

If the system is cold your pressure is much too high for starters. It should be round about 2 bar when the system is HOT. More like 1 Bar when cold.
You are just outside the 2 year warranty on the beastie by all accounts. Pity. You have to suspect the diverter valve. You need to get someone in - sorry. Call the guy who services it for you.

Low pressure on these is F22 fault. Your fault is nothing to do with pressure.
press the 's' button and tell us what it says.
Is this the actual flame symbol showing or the radiator symbol?
If it is the flame, then the boiler is alight.0
