  • Am I missing a trick with the APG? I have just tried to work out how to make the most of it but can't for the life of me see how you all get such massive savings.

I worked out that if I took advantage of the following offers at tesco:

    Andrex 4 pack x 4 = £3.50 16 packs of 4 for £14
    Cadbury drinking choc £1.89 BOGOF
    Napolina Olive Oil £3.19
Napolina Extra virgin olive oil £3.19
    Dentyl Mouthwash £1.99

This will come to £24.26 but buy in Asda where they dont have the offers and it comes to £47.37. (Would need another 3 items to make 8 but just for arguments sake...)

    So APG 10% cheaper than £24.26 = £21.84
I should get a refund voucher of £25.53 (actual saving £2.42)

Doesn't seem much for the hours Ive just spent working it out??!

    Is there something Im missing?

That's kind of it, think it works best if you also womble lots of small apg's and then combine to get one big one etc etc. I don't have an asda withing 30 mile round trip so no expert I'm afraid but HTH

    Can't see the Andrex at 4x4 for £3.50 http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/search/default.aspx?searchBox=andrex

although the Andrex washlets reduced from £1.88 to £1 are a good buy with the 50p coupon http://www.mumplusone.com/images/vouchers/Andrex.pdf
  • Im wondering if it was a mistake... the andrex offer. It disappeared as I had it in my basket. It was due to start tomorrow.

No, that's the way it works.

It's perhaps better seen as a way of getting a 10% discount on own brand staples that are normally price matched by ASDA anyway. (Cans of baked beans, tins of tomatoes, dishwasher salt, that sort of thing.) Unless, of course, ASDA are running a £5 off £40 promotion as well - in which case it's worthwhile maximising the price difference.

    And then there's wombling.
