Huge apologies if this has already been mentioned, been away for weeks and only just catching up. I noticed that the Ocean Spray link on the facebook page seems to be up and running again, not tried it yet. Has anyone manged to print off 50p MOCs recently?
The newest prices on the shopping list look OK, not as good as Sainsburys 69p thoughBut I am wondering how likely is it that Ocean Spray might go half price in a store this side of Christmas????
Hi I printed some off last night no probs at all
i got 3 oceans sprays in asda for 50p
as its on 3 4 £2 i used 3 MOCS
i mixed the flavours too:)0 -
morning all, just a quick one... noticed this PDF saying you can get a free slab of rockyroad from hotel chocolat might be of use to someone if you have one near by : )0

Am I missing a trick with the APG? I have just tried to work out how to make the most of it but can't for the life of me see how you all get such massive savings.
I worked out that if I took advantage of the following offers at tesco:
Andrex 4 pack x 4 = £3.50 16 packs of 4 for £14
Cadbury drinking choc £1.89 BOGOF
Napolina Olive Oil £3.19
Napolina Extra virgin olive oil £3.19
Dentyl Mouthwash £1.99
This will come to £24.26 but buy in Asda where they dont have the offers and it comes to £47.37. (Would need another 3 items to make 8 but just for arguments sake...)
So APG 10% cheaper than £24.26 = £21.84
I should get a refund voucher of £25.53 (actual saving £2.42)
Doesn't seem much for the hours Ive just spent working it out??!
Is there something Im missing?
Say this is your first shop, then it may not seem such a great saving (although any saving is great I think). But for your next shop, you should have a £5 off wys £40 voucher to add to the mix, so your actual cash outlay on the second £40 shop will be less than £10 (£25.53 plus £5 in MOCs as your "stake").
Then add any manufacturers MOCs into the mix and you could easily reduce that £10 down to very little, so even on your second shop you are recouping some of the "excess" paid in the overpriced first shop. Do this a few more times and you will eventually break even until future shops cost very little. As mentioned above, the quickest way to "break even" is by wombling receipts and hoping to get lucky that they have an APG voucher - all the little ones soon add up.
Alternatively, start small with some products that MOCs make cheap or free (atm eg sensations, comfort, cheerios still I think?, etc) and build your way up. Try to keep a tally of how much the items are actually costing because it is easy to double count/forget the initial overprice if you don't keep track.
Think of the initial start as an investment, stick with it and plan your lists carefully and you will soon benefit. Yes, it can take some time but it is definitely worth it on a cumulative basis as it can mean "free" groceries.
I shop specifically at Asda only for APG as I don't like my local store much, so its in with a f ixed list and out as quickly as possible.
BTW, in your example above, this wouldn't work as you do not have 8 different comparable products - so you would not have got an APG voucher back! Need to add some other low priced items to meet the promotion criteria.
Sorry to ramble - good luck!0 -
