She only told half the story Kerri. We know US using coupons are unlimited. Over here using more than 10 coupons for the same products we get CA buzzz for the CS then buzz for the manager:rotfl:

    ...followed by
    'have you bought this'
    'yes',
'where did you get the coupon'
    'the internet'
'we don't accept internet coupons and this is a copy'
'not it isn't, I printed it this morning, and you accepted internet coupons last week'
cue long conversation between CA, CS and manager while other cutomers become increasingly annoyed at the delay and look like they might physically beat you with the french stick they have in their trolly
'we'll accept them just this once'
'oh wow, thank you so much for allowing my to shop in your store, I am sooooo honoured - oh and btw I've been overcharged on this item, do I get DTD?'

daily mail article about extreme couponing and some msers have contributed to it, they say so on other non coupon thread.

Read the comments left by readers, cheeky so and so's, they are quite insulting about us couponners.

    Whose the mug I say.

The person who gets their shopping for less than half price or the person who pays full price. Doh, can't they do the maths.

I skim read, as DH was moaning on about me not going out with DS, (DS wanted DH to take him to the park and DH did not want to go!)

so did not read it properly.

this is why we do not give interviews to the press

    1) they do not get your name right

    2) they twist what you say

    3) they do not tell the full story, they select the bits they like and quote those only, leaving the story half told. Meaning people do not pick up on the important bits like do not use other people's coupons and do not photocopy, etc.

As another MSEr who was in print recently said "the story was a bit vanilla, they did not quote everything I had said and they chose the glossy bits they like", not quite verbatim quote.

I was so excited about it this morning, now reading that people feel it might make supermarkets clamp down, i feel rather idiotic. :/ x

don't feel idiotic. It is not an easy thing talking to the press and most people don't realise they are not really your friend, and only choose "the vanilla" bits they like and quote those. Or what makes a good headline.

I know from a support group how the newspapers and magazines can twist a story so it reads well, even if it is not the truth! Giving people a distorted view of the truth and not caring who gets hurt by the article.

Don't get your hopes up in the UK. Most retailers will set limits on how much they will take and a lot will only take the coupons if you buy the items. They cost too much to process the coupons in the Cash Offices and take too much time at the tills. Imagine stood behind someone paying with £100 of coupons when each coupon will have to be checked!! As an ex-Service Manager for a large supermarket I know how much time these tasks take.
