Non-coupon related Drivel Thread 5

ok firstly
1. Lidl do not accept coupon/vouchers, except their own, that they sometimes give out and the ones that occasionally appear in the newspaper, ie £5 off £35 spend at Lidl.
BUT for money saving, Lidl is a good shop! Their mince - good quality can sometimes be bought for as little as 99p!!! :j When this price, stock up and put in your freezer! I have heard good things about their washing up liquid and washing powder, it is their own brand but the old style board rave about it regularly, so must be good!
2. Morrisons is not necessarily much cheaper than Tesco as I found out recently. Yes they have some better stuff but the price is approximately the same. My Morrisons is 7 miles away, a long bus ride, doesn't really justify going there. Saying that they are opening a new one in my local town, 20 minute bus ride on a bad day, so will be using that when it opens as closer than Ts, but wondering how am supposed to get to the bus stop! As where they are building it, not close to my bus stops!
3. Wombling - all receipts! I wombled a sainsbury's receipt today, walking along street to go to drs, someone's price match for £2.20! just discarded..... it is mine now! that will buy 2 pints of cravendale, a loaf of bread.....
with Tesco's if you put them in the price checker, they may be worth cash at tesco.
with asda if you put them in the price checker, they may be worth cash at asda.
some tesco receipts have clubcard points as person did not have clubcard, worth taking 1 or 2 to CS and getting them added to your clubcard, but don;t do too often as they will take your clubcard away.
4. Store cupboards. - go through your cupboards, make a list of what you have and what you need, for staples, ie pickled onions, beetroot, honey, salt, pepper, spaghetti, pasta, etc. Then use the coupon thread for building your store cupboard. great when you need to make dinner in a hurry and you can go the cupboard, and you have pasta, tinned tomatoes, tomato puree, etc and can make pasta with sauce.
old style board is great for store cupboard staples.
with the coupon thread, I have stocked up on tomato ketchup in past, toothpaste, fairy liquid, concentrated washing liquid, etc.
am running a little low on fariry now.... supersavvy me..... more coupons please.0 -

hello everyone.
I am new to the coupon game but have decided to start setting some new year targets for saving money on everything so this seems like a good plan.
My local supermarket is asda but i am still debating about wombling. Can I ask do you use the same email address for all the receipts you put in? Just wondered if that may look suspicious when the receipt times are close together. Do Asda not mind this happening? I guess they probably don't care as long as we all shop there instead of one of the others.
Anyway I am off there soon so may brave the odd one I see hanging around - I think 30 is a bit beyond me yet:)0 -
Afternoon all. Been to a much bigger Tesco's quite a drive away in the wind and rain but they have quite a large clothes section and OH wanted some school clothes for FD (she just keeps growing!). Got some school trousers for £3, really nice ones too. Spent a load, didn't use many coupons plus a TPC. Must be slipping! If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0

Hi CarolineJane
doesn't hurt to have more than one email address0 -

You don't need a proper email address or name and address for the price guarantee. So you can put any made up details. None of my Asda's care about how many APG's I give and if they did ever question them all being on the same day I would just say I have my sis/bro/mum's as well as my own. Asda get's us in the shop spending the wombled APG's and a bit more on top.
Saturday will probably be good for reduced stuff as well.Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

I don't think it is a problem for people posting couponing questions on this thread MT.
It is the non coupon related drivel - only because we talked so much [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] relevant stuff on the coupon thread, so we [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] talk useful stuff here.
I think people are finding this on the main forum as it is a sticky and therefore asking these questions. Not a bad thing in my opinion. At least they find us friendly enough to ask the questionsthey don't think we are ogres or anything.
