Evening all - it is very quiet in here. I am trying to educate myself in the ASDA APG malarky lol...
Anyone done one recently who would like to share some tips?
So basically buy minimum 8 different produsts and make sure they ARE ALL cheaper at Tesco's?*niptuckfan* wrote: »hi farmville, you have asked just what i was going to! my home town just had an asda open last month so i would like to be a bit more up on it all too - there doesnt seem to be much on asdas actual websiteJust take it back and get yer dosh back;) You will make £2 for the hassle. I always buy 10 items, which include these kind of things
1 x ASDA Smartprice Chopped Tomatoes (400g) £0.38 £0.38
1 x ASDA Smartprice Tomato Soup (400g) £0.24 £0.24
1 x ASDA Smartprice Gravy Granules for Meat Dishes £0.20...£0.20
Instant noodles are also something cheap to add (14p) which I then put in a stew (minus the flavouring sachet;))

The Asda APG is quite easy really. It looks like the £5 off £40 ended on the 11th December unless they do another one though:(
You need a minimum 8 different items, although I usually get 10. The above items are cheap and are usually the same price or 1p diff in most supermarkets so are good as an additional item if what is on your list is not instore.
DO NOT buy reduced items with your shop as they match them against full price items so always buy as a 2nd shop. I find the easiest thing to do is to go onto my supermarket and join then you can make a shopping list and then print it out.
NEVER shop on a Monday or Saturday if the offers are ending that you want to compare against on a Tues or Sunday as they will not show on my supermarket the next day so you will not get the comparison.
There is a limit of 10 apg's per month or £100, BUT you don't need to put a real email, name or home address. I never do.
If you make an error, if it is a small one it isn't worth the hassle of taking back the item, but if it is a large error then just take back what it is under thechange yoru mind money back guarantee.
I hope the above helps, any questions then feel free to ask.Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

I only have a small asda so don't do this.
You need to buy at least 10 products to make sure they compare, if you just buy 8, you may find asda is not comparing them all!
goto mysupermarket.com and use their comparison tool - check out what you would normally buy and see if it is cheaper at T than A.
make your list from this. Why do you think it takes Doc 2 hours? not a quick thing to do! :rotfl:
It takes doc 2 hours cos she drivelsfor 1 hour 155 in between sorting it
It is not just Tesco they compare, Morrisons (hard to check prices unless you just want things they have on offer on their website), Sainsburys and Waitrose.Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Just been looking thru the current spirt offers with a view to an APG and in most cases Asda are notably cheapest, the exception being on Glenfiddich. Quite often they are several pounds cheaper than Tesco.
Didnt realise that APG was the current topic when I posted that... So to continue..... I find that looking at the current top offers at T and to a lesser extent S and then comparing the prices to A often results in simply identifying which products are likely to have a good yield.0 -

If your wanting Whiskey then Famouse Grouse is on offer in Morrisons at £15 for a litre bottle and £18.97 in Asda. It means you will get a litre bottle for £13.50 with the 10% as well.

It is better to check the prices tomorrow morning though as Asda, Sainsburys and Tesco change prices on A Tuesday Night/Wed Morning. Morrisons offers end on Sundays.Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)
