Advice on PS3 & TV

I have been looking around for ages and finally decided to ask here and see if anyone has any advice / opinions on either of these.
TV:
We are getting a new TV and were thinking about this one:

Is this a good deal?

PS3:
This one is a little harder. I am getting this for a Christmas gift for someone who really wants one, but can't really talk to him about it as I don't want him to know he's getting it.
I don't know whether to get a bundle pack, just the console and then some games separately? And which would be best value for money and where to buy it from.
Also, there's the slim and then the other model type, and different GB sizes. Any ideas would be really gratefully received.

in terms of the TV Sanyo may be cheap but wont be a good one I suspect. Recommend you check reviews e.g. what hi-fi, avforums.

For the ps3 do you know what games he would like ? how about getting him just the console and a GAME/Gamestation card with say £80 on it and he can then buy what games he wants.0
