Shortage of allotments? Seems not around here.
Had my plot a little while now, But struggling to grow some items.
Enquired at another site about 3 weeks ago. Just had a call and they have a plot free.
Just need to go and see what its like.

Offered choice of 2 half plots. Both a little overgrown but nothing major.
Not compared to our previous plot.
Just ordered some winter onions, Hopefully get them in next weekend.
Its mad when i keep reading about shortages. They expect more plots to become available when the
prices increase again next year.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Quite unbelievable. I believe there is a 200 long waiting list for a plot on a Council owned site.
I am on the list at our site for some more/a larger plot (I have a half plot).
I walked around our site today as hubby and I haven't seen some plotholders work their plot (and the plots clearly haven't been worked for some time) since spring this year. There are easily a good half a dozen plots which are badly overgrown. Our annual rents have just been renewed so hopefully some of these plots will be offered to people on the list soon.
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Finding it a bit strange with different people, Slightly different rules and the way they run it.
Tools are left for everyone to use in case you pop in on the way home etc.
Same sort of enthusiasm though. Just different management/commitee idea's.
Seems they might be quicker off the mark if people have not tended the plots recently and
then failed to pay on time.
At least i can try planting the same items at the same time on 2 sites now and see if its the soil
thats preventing the stuff from growing or its me.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
