EDF want to update our meter, but they don't supply our power?

HI
We have had a couple of letters addresses to the previous owner of our house (we have bought about 5 years ago!) from EDF energy suggesting our electricity meter is old and needs to be replaced.
Our energy supplier is Scottish power.
Is this a scam, they have now arranged an appointment to come and visit according to their latest letter, for which I really don't want to take a day off for and I did not ask for.
Any pointers welcome
Thanks

I am an EDF customer and had a letter early this year from EON saying my electric meter needing replacing. I thought it was a scam and asked on here, but it was all above board. I had my meter replaced by EON workers, and there was no scam! I also had to take a day off as they couldn't give me specific time.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

your Host supplier will need to change your meter, it won't affect who actually supplies you. Its perfectly normal.
It should be changed by EDF Networks not EDF Energy.0 -
Do I have any obligation to do this, I can think of better ways to spend the day at the moment!?0
