All,
Was after a little advice and it may help if you know basic contract law (been ten years since i studied a module in that so very cloudy).
I signed up to one of the Ecovision free solar panels, and went through all the legals, been sat here now for the last month phoning up every week for an update and told...'waiting on solicitors to update systems'. Transpires today when I call that basically they have decided to not install any more solar , are fully booked up to the cut off date (12.12.12) when the government changes tarrifs.
Now what do you think is my come back on this? So angry that I have sat here waiting for them for a month and we have a legally signed contract. I offer them rental of my roof, for them to give me free solar. Is there some legal consequence to aggreeing to a contract they are not fullfilling?
Thanks...obviously just annoying as reducing my energy bill and helping the environment in the process is now not going to happen

Count yourself lucky - you will now be able to take advantage of the goverments new 'Green Deal' which will be announced shortly and will be much better financially speaking apparently.0

If the panels were free then there's no consideration and no legally enforceable contract
Even if there was some consideration than I suspect something in the T&C will have covered the sitation.0 -

The panels not free in every sense, are they? The householder has to agree to allow the company to install panels on the householder's property.
Under contract law, consideration is something of value.

I don't think a court would have any difficulty accepting that giving up the space on your own roof in exchange for the free use of electricity includes consideration on both sides and is therefore an enforceable contract. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.
We belong to the Earth0
