Crazy prices for a voucher! I don't understand that either!
I am envious of your evening Chocs. Tv, Pizza and bath sounds amazing (not all at once, obviously!).
I listed six more lots for auction on ebay last night. I was so tired though and kept making mistakes, so will have to double check everything's correct today! I have 3 more items I can list but will do that at another time - maybe tonight once DS is in bed, as DH is out for a few hours so I'll be on my own.0 -
Another lovely sunny day here, trying to think of somewhere different Ds and I can go for a walk today without having to pay for parking. I'm tired of doing the same old routes all the time and would like something new to look at!
Bit annoyed yesterday as met up with some in laws and walked to a local cafe. I didn't really want to spend any money but gave the only money I had in my purse - a £5 note - to the person who volunteered to go inside and get the drinks. Asked them to pick me up a soft drink and only later realised that they'd used my money to pay for all four drinks so got pittance in change! This person can be very selfish So I should've thought ahead and gone in myself. It doesn't help that they are financially well off and quite a snob to go with it, I often feel I am looked down on by them.
I don't understand eBay at all. I am not doing at all well with these latest auctions, some don't even have any watchers and only two with bids totalling under £3. The thing is, the baby clothing I'm currently selling is probably the nicest stuff Ds had! I purposefully kept hold of it, but realised that was a daft thing to do. I really don't know why it's not doing well, but we could really do with it picking up soon as we're heading for the £300 Mark with the overdraft.0 -
Ds and I managed to go for our free walk for an hour and a half yesterday. It was lovely, but a little too hot too be honest as was around midday by the time we got back to the car. I took a mini picnic for Ds so he ate his lunch alfresco yesterday!
This morning we went to aldi and stocked up, spending around £32. I paid this in cash though as last night people collected the items we had sold, so thankfully it paid for a big shop.
I also had to fill the car up with petrol as it was running on fumes this morning. That was £50, to be honest I'd thought it would be nearer £60, but it's still expensive enough!
It's pay day today, so I've updated the Loan details in my signature for this month. I haven't paid anything off the credit card yet, I'll wait and see how much the minimum payment is thus month and then see if we can afford to pay more. I hate making minimum payments but it's the way things are at the moment. At least the balance hasn't gone up this month as we no longer have the card.
I've transferred £100 to the car & house pot as we have the car tax to pay in June or July and need to make sure we have the money to pay it.
£155 has gone to the grocery budget as we spent £13 in lidl last night on BBQ food, salad etc as we had friends over (not bad to feed 6!) and £31 on approved foods this week, although not all of that is mine as have combined an order with a family member.
We did well with the grocery budget last month and were pretty much on target, so will try and improve on that this month and spend less.
The overdraft ended up being at around £260 so we did 'pay off' £100 of it last month. We'll try and reduce it by another £100 this month.
My eBay auctions are still very poor, I'm wondering whether it's down to the sunny weather??? I have found some garden furniture we no longer want in the shed to sell via the notice board at work though. Hopefully that will make £40 ish combined.0 -
I already have 3 people interested in the garden furniture we're getting rid of, one coming to see it tonight, so that may be another £40 made tonight!0
-
Garden furniture was sold, so an extra £40 in our pockets and a bit more space in the shed! :T
We spent £13 of that money on refreshments, ice cream and a little bit towards entry whilst on a day out yesterday at a local tourist attraction, £12.50 of which was paid for with clubcard days out tokens. We took a picnic to keep costs down too, and we love a picnic!0 -
Hi DFSD
Hope you are OK. I've been a bit quiet because the flat sale looks like it is finally going through so I need to get somewhere to rent. I know it has been in the news how there is strong demand for rental properties. I hadn't appreciated that places come up for let, you need to look around them within a couple of days else they have been taken. I really need to sort something out next week. Good stress though because I just want to get out of my place.
It will be great to have the weekend to have a good clean of the flat and maybe a bit more sorting out. And have time for some more fun things for the jubilee!
Fingers crossed you all stay well for the long weekend and have a lovely time.
Best wishes xMortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

Great news on the flat sale Chocs, fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you. I don't envy you having to find somewhere to rent in the meantime, when we were renting I found the whole process very stressful! Good luck x0

Just relisted 7 'lots' on ebay, hoping that people may have more time to browse ebay with the 4 day weekend ahead of us. We could really do with clearing the space that this bin bag full of baby clothes is taking up, but more importantly, we could do with the money.
Good news is that Quidco have finally paid out £70 which has been owing for ages, just £120 more to go from them then until it's all settled...0 -
The Quidco money is good news. I have a few things in limbo with TCB though nothing like as much as your £120!
I have sold a few things on Ebay recently and, as is so often the case, the things I almost didn't put on there because I didn't think they would sell made me the most money. I think the last one went in the post today and then I'll take a break until I am settled in the new place. It was motivating to keep going because my Paypal balance was so high for me. I hope your lots do well. I don't think the weather is going to be that great this weekend so there should be lots of browsers.
Have a lovely weekendMortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

That's always the way with eBay isn't it! I've listed one more item tonight which is of reasonably high value, so hopefully that will do well. I already have a few bids on some of other items which is great. I have sorted a few more items tonight which can go on, but my netbook was on such a 'go slow' that I gave up trying to list any more. I'll try again another day.
Exciting stuff about the move chocs, it's sounding all very real now!
Have a good weekend all
