JSA not been paid yet

Hubby went to his sign on appt on the 11th November and has still not been paid yet, he is trying to chase it up as we speak but it seems to be taking ages no one seems to know.
Is this a normal thing to have to wait that long? Housing benefit was supposed to go in today, theres no sign of that yet either.
This is the first time either of us has signed on so it's all new to us.
He is due to sign on again this Friday, we were under the impression we got the money in 3 working days. Is that right?
Thanks for any help.

If it is a new claim,It can take 4-6 weeks to process. If it is not a new JSA claim he need to fill in a QB42 after 5 days and get it signed by his bank to confirm that it has not gone in. As for HB it depends on the council on how they handle missing payments.0

thanks for the reply. We just managed to speak to someone. Apparently his payment is stuck with claims because its the first payment they are issuing emergency payment. Apparently this is a regular event when first payment is due.
He has already been in the system 4/5 weeks they say he should have had the money last Wednesday and they have apologised.
We are wondering if the same has happened with HB so he is chasing them to just to make sure it's not " stuck "0
