Malta Hotels

I am planning a short weekend break booking through Airmiles (got loads to use up, so may as well while I am short of cash!) Husband wants to go to Malta.

I list below some of the hotels, can you let me know if any of them are good or more importantly awful!! Also where is the best area to stay to have a lazy few days (with a 1 year old in tow!!) I am looking for friendly cafes, a clean hotel and somewhere we can go for walks along the sea front. Any ideas?

The hotels I have as an option are:
Topaz in Bugibba
Crown in an area between Bugibba and St. Paul's Bay
Howard Johnson Diplomat in Sliema
Windsor in Sliema
Galaxy in Sliema
Coastline in Salina Bay

Thanks
