Probably just plug it into a USB port and install the drivers - see how it works?
You may find you get a cruddy signal under your table though so get a 5m ACTIVE USB cable (normal passive ones can cause problems, the active ones make sure all the timing works properly for the signals) and stick the dongle in a window with decent reception. This kind of thing -

It can make a real difference to your experience for a few extra quids. Maybe try it without first, then with if the signal is weak.0 -
It's not a laptop dongle - it's just a dongle, and it doesn't know what kind of computer it is plugged into.
I've found that my "3" one is very sensitive to location, and it likes to be near a window, so I use a long-ish USB cable.0 -
I have found '3' to be one of the best providers of mobile broadband in my area.
If you phone the retentions team up 1 month before the end of your contract im sure they will offer you a significant discount on your current unlimited plan (as you will no longer be paying for the laptop)0
