Found piece metal in burger

hi guys,

i recently bought a pack of 4 taste the difference chrzio beef burger from sainsburys.

when eating the burger, it tasted pretty awful and to my horror i then bit on to something hard.

this turned out to be a small piece of metal.

i want to complain to sainsburys but something like this has never happened to me before.

can anyone advise the best course of action to make a complaint?

  • Say nothing , the price of scrap metal now it's probably worth more than the burgers cost.

Retain the packaging and contact Sainsbury's. They will investigate with the producer, it is most likely part of the machinery used in manufacturing or packaging the burgers

How much compensation will you be looking for?

Since they made no mention of it in their post, presumably none.

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker
We had similar with a lump of what looked like molten plastic in a can of Heinz soup bought in Asda. We took it back to Asda, we got about £50 worth of Heinz vouchers (we didnt actually ask for compo, just told them what had happened) and were promised that we would be kept informed of results of their inquiries into the incident. About a month later they forwarded a copy of the lab report they'd had back which was a full A4 piece of paper stating they'd performed analytical tests in their quality control labs and the conclusion was : It is a piece of plastic

    Genius!!!

My girlfriend found a staple in her chow mein the other week from a takeaway we've used for years.

Rang them to complain, they offered to refund the cost of the chow main which is fair enough but the entire meal ended in the bin, didn't really fancy eating it after that little discovery!

We've now started using another takeaway so it will cost the other one a lot in the long run.

Yep It must be costing them a fortune now that you and your girlfriend have stopped spending £10 a week with them.

I reckon they'll go broke by the end of the year

£10 a week = £480 a year x other customers affected and word of mouth = bad for business.
  • Your math is a bit bad as there are 52 weeks in the year unless your taking off 4 weeks holiday..

    im sure they'll survive
