Very specific targetting but Costco have launched an American Express card that may be useful for some:
1) You need to be a Costco member to get a card
2) There is a £20 Annual fee (above and beyond Costco membership)
3) 3% Cashback on restaurant purchases , 2% Cashback on Travel purchases, 1% cashback on all other purchases (the 1% level only has a maximum of £300 p.a.)
Cashback in the form of a voucher to spend at Costco that (according to T&C's) you can also encash at your local Costco warehouse.
Also...... as a side effect of this Costco now also takes Amex as well as Debit cards :T

I thought Costco always took Amex.... well... I've never shopped in Costco in the UK. But when I used them abroad I recall it was either Amex, cash/debit, or whatever local visa/mastercard they had affiliated with.0 -

Not in the UK - I think they started taking Amex about three weeks ago in the UK.0 -

It says in an article about it that the Costco/Amex partnership exists in a couple of countries (incl. USA) and they've expanded to the UK (and hence started taking Amex here.0 -

Are you aware of https://www.Amextoptreats.co.uk , can't say for sure if it will work with True Earnings, but if it does the Restaurant reward would be fairly stunning!0 -
Cheers, no I wasn't aware - I'll take a look although I get the impressionn the sort of places that usually do special deals ( in similiar way to Taste card) often ask for prebook .. but are the type of places I go on spec.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

In the states they also get 3% on all gasoline purchases. Pity we can't get that, we would be rolling in it with the cost of our gasoline.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far
+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.
Terramundi weighs 8lb 5oz0 -
Its great 3% at my favourite Restaurant Nando's.
The card is better than using your debit card as you get something back almost every time. ditching Debit card getting Amex!!10 -
Can anyone tell me which restaurants & travel companies result in the extra cashback? It needs some careful calculation to determine whether this is a better deal that my current Amex Platinum card, which can pay up to 3% on all transactions once I have spent enough in the year, and no maximum payout on any category.0
