Bent cars goin to Poland

More and more accident damaged cars that are written off and are easily repairable are been exported to Poland where they are repaired then end up back over here The insurance companies now are getting good money for the salvage and they are writting off more and more cars. If you have a accident and you are faultless and your car is deemed scrap DO NOT take the first offer i know of one case where the owner was offered £1200 then after alot of arguing and heated phone calls they settled on £3000.

And the car being repaired elsewhere is worse than mr monkey working under an old canvas sheet
    in his front garden.

Who only hides the damage and does not repair it properly?

Door sill all mashed in, Needs jigging and welding, Nah Some cheapo side skirts from a scrapper will hide them
    perfectly. Sorted.

Couple of self tappers and some expanding foam holds modern plastic bumpers on really well.

I find it great that the British public are so paranoid about light damage to cars it means I can buy the salvage cheaper, have the car repaired and get a bargain.

You are correct though as I am inevitably bidding against the Eastern Europeans.

So in effect another scam from the insurance industry.

While a lot of them are going out of the country, a substantial number are having minimal work done on them, if any, and are back running on the roads. Years ago the white caps started parking outside Addiewell -fully marked cars - and pulled over loads after every sale when our euro cousins thought they could buy the salvage and drive them away.

I think it's the perceived insult of them choosing to work for a living, and coming halfway across europe to do it.

If they want to pay a fortune to drag a wrecked car across several countries then let them tear away i say.
