    Ah but sometimes the debtfreewannabee folks can help you to see what is a luxury and what isn't :) Also advice on utility tariffs, best deal on insurance etc.

    You can double check your entitlements on the Turn2us online benefit calculator (and the maximum LHA limit on the Direct gov website but your income is very high anyhow), find out how to reduce household expenses and deal with your debts on the debt free wanabee board, and download this site's Budget Planner and identify how to reduce your expenses even further, using the tips provided on this site.

    Hi Tom

    I was up until today self employed for over 10yrs I own a van which as a single parent (at the time) I used it to do the shopping/school run etc etc as well as for work. My accountant has claimed for my van every year all be it at a reduced rate.
